Open-Faced Pizza Burgers

Open-Faced Pizza Burgers

After taking my first mouthful of one of these open-faced pizza burgers, I couldn’t help but be overcome by feelings of yesteryear. These cheesy burgers will be right up your alley if you are someone who, like me, grew up eating pizza made with English muffins. They had the flavor of an improved version of one of my favorites from my youth.

This dish is reminiscent of a cross between a burger and a pizza in that it takes the most savory elements from each to create a word ideal for sharing with loved ones. You may also enjoy this delectable dish with only a few simple ingredients and a little over a quarter of an hour on the clock.

The Quick and Easy Way to Prepare Pizza Burgers in Just Twenty Minutes

This easy-to-make supper is kid-friendly and only requires three steps to put ready. Before you get started, place an oven rack so that it is approximately six inches beneath the broiler. Even though the broiler will be used at the end of the cooking process, the exact time to utilize it is before the oven is preheated.

The first thing you need to do is place the English muffin halves on a baking sheet and put them in the oven to toast. While they are crisping, you will brown the ground beef in the skillet, mix in a few spices, and add just enough marinara to make it saucy. While they are crisping, you can create the sauce. After dousing the toasted English muffins with the beef sauce and topping them with mozzarella shreds, you should place them in the broiler for about a minute so the cheese can melt.

INGREDIENTS

  • One yellow onion, very little
  • Four traditional English muffins
  • One tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 pound of beef that has been leanly ground
  • a dash of Italian seasoning, two tablespoons
  • 1/2 milligram of the garlic powder
  • One teaspoon of kosher salt
  • A quarter of a milligram of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and position a rack so that it is 6 inches below the broiler element. While it is going on, dice up one tiny yellow onion.
  2. Cut four English muffins in half horizontally. Place the pieces, cut-side up, on a baking sheet with a rim. Toasted in the oven for about five minutes or until a light browning has occurred. Put to the side and turn the broiler on in the range.
  3. Bring one tablespoon of olive oil to a shimmering temperature in a large pan set over medium-high heat. After adding the onion, cook it for approximately 5 minutes, tossing it regularly until it has softened. Add one pound of lean ground beef, two teaspoons of Italian seasoning, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of kosher salt, and a quarter teaspoon of black pepper. Cook the meat, using a wooden spoon to break it into smaller pieces as it cooks, for 5 to 7 minutes, until it has browned, is starting to crisp, and is cooked all the way through.
  4. After stirring in one cup of pizza or marinara sauce, continue cooking for about three minutes or until the sauce thickens gradually. To prepare the English muffins, divide the ingredients between them. Scatter one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  5. In the broiler for one to two minutes or until the cheese has melted.
